I have to admit, as a piece of writing -- and theological/hagiographical arguments aside -- it's one of those things that is so bad, it's funny to read. It reads like a bad Bible fanfic just about, complete with not just a Mary Sue, but *TWO* Gary Stus. It dawned me as I was riding to the cinema on the bus that the assassin-monk is the other Gary Stu, since he's got the whole TWAGIC PAST thing and he's also an amelanistic albino (ie. white hair, white skin, pink eyes) who somehow magically doesn't have the bad eyesight that people with that form of albinism generally have.
