Muraki had bought the ring years before: a platinum round with a garnet flanked by two diamonds, the stones of passion and permanence, respectively, for the one he was willing to spend his immortality with, the one for whom he became a monster to protect one even though he might very well consume them both.
He felt uncertain, though, which lover he would give it to, to Ukyou, his shy, frail love since childhood, for whom he would kill to protect, or to Tsuzuki, his violet-eyed obsession, for whom he would kill to possess...
