And I'd like to add that my dad's co-worker lost some of his cousins still living in Sri Lanka, while some of them barely survived when a wave washed their car off a coastline road. My mother has a penpal whose husband, a doctor, works with one of the Christian relief groups in India: we haven't heard from Kaye since before the Tsunami, and we've tried to contact her, but without any luck. I'm not asking for sympathy: I'm just pointing out that I've been affected by these tragedies, too.
