Manaically busy day
Aug. 17th, 2004 11:58 pmAppointment with my therapist... Lowell library work, complete with fighting my way to a computer to print out some things for my mother... Washing dishes... going to the Tewksbury Library... This while I didn't sleep great last night because of my sinuses acting up from the humidity and because I set my alarm clock, and alarm clocks make me paranoid.
But the good news is... Today was my dad's last day at his old job. I can tell he was sad to leave all his friends there, but he knows this is the right thing to do: it's not right to work for a place that is so badly managed, their paychecks are bouncing.
And, I finally was able to talk to Mark about the sci-fi convention. It sounds as if he wants to go to one of the Friday through Sunday sessions... Those are a bit more expensive, but I'll see what I can manage. I'll have to tighten the budget on my costume, but all I need to buy is the sleeveless black body suit and a pair of black leggings.
So... when I went to the Lowell Library, I went looking for something by Terry Prachett, who's one of the guests of honor at the convention. I hear his novels are hysterical, so I thought I'd make myself more familiar with them... And it seems everyone else had a similar idea, but I managed to get out "The Truth".
