matrixrefugee: the word 'refugee' in electric green with a background of green matrix code (Merovingian)
I was able to knock another entry off the Sci-Fi convention "to-do" list... only to add two more items...

1. Withdraw money from bank account for:
2. The necessary parts for my Trinity costume, in which case I have to:
3. Call a local shop that retails dance equipment for the local ballet schools, etc, and get price on sleeveless black leotard/hours
4. Find a pair of black leggings at K-Mart or WalMart (Do they even sell those any more?)
5. Also black/green gym bag for toting my necessary gear around; it has to be black/green in order for it to be in character. I've been going with the "first movie" look, and the gym bag ties in with the government lobby shootout scene.
6. Buy toy gun, eg. a water pistol or something like it, and paint it black. (I haven't been too successful finding anything that looks remotely like Trinity's Glock 9.)
7. See if I can't keep the cost down so that will leave me $150~ to spend at the convention itself.
8. Get haircut! (My bangs are so long they're bugging me.)

I hope I can get this all assembled by next Friday...

My dad had his first day on the new job on Monday: he's glad to be working there, as it's a little less work than it was at the other place, and the folks there are very nice. There's a mix of immigrant workers there: Cambodian folks and Brazilian folks and a few Spanish people, so he's adjusting to working around this very eclectic ethnic mix. He's already put in a word with "Linda", his boss, about the possibility of me getting in there, and she thinks they can fit me in by the spring. Not as soon as I'd like it, but it will come.

Filker's Note: Got this idea from my wacky friend Mark when we were driving to see "The Matrix: Revolutions" at a local IMAX theatre and James Taylor's "You've Got A Friend" was on the CD player, so Mark started changing the words, sort of "Matriculating" them. So, this one's for you, Mark! (Also, special thanks goes out to "Lady Smith" for helping me with one sticky line I got stuck on.)

Disclaimer: I don't own the words to "You've Got a Friend", which belong to James Taylor. I don't own "The Matrix" either, which belongs to the Brothers W (Wachowski and Warner), Joel Silver Pictures, Village Roadshow, etc.
