matrixrefugee: the word 'refugee' in electric green with a background of green matrix code (Snape)
My allergies seem to be doing their best to mimic a cold: I've been taking Benedryl and Sudafed, but nothing seems to be knocking out the symptoms. My nose/sinuses are packed solid and my poor nostrils are raw from my vain attempts at blowing my nose. And I don't want to play the HMO's game of Go to an Allergist or We Won't Give You Back Your Prescription Allergy Meds, because the last time I went to an allergist, I ended up with a jerk with no bedside manners whatsoever, who insisted on doing allergy tests on me. Since I know what those things entail (they're utter torture to an Aspie with touch sensitivity, plus I'm terrified of needles, I've had so damn many poked into me over the years. I know what I'm allergic to: you don't have to shoot allergens into me to figure it out. Get yourself a nice voodoo doll -- that *doesn't* resemble me -- to poke instead, si'l vous plait.), I pleaded with him not to, and I ended up having to practically make a scene before he *finally* gave in to my requests.

And my mom has been trying to figure out if her two penpals in Louisiana are okay; my dad dug out a road atlas of the U.S. to help her out: One of them is located well-inland, so she's probably okay, but the other is in Marrero, which is right outside New Orleans, on the west bank of the Mississippi. I heard that the mail service to N.O. has been suspended until further notice, and I don't doubt the mail to Marrero has to pass through N.O. We're hoping she made it to higher ground before the worst happened.

And according to matrixfans.net, the release of "V for Vendetta" has been delayed till March 17, 2006, because of post-production delays. But, "Mirrormask", the movie which Neil Gaiman scripted and Brian Henson directed, with Dave McKean in charge of art design, is going to be shown at the Kendall Square Cinema in Cambridge. Now I just have to find out the release date for that. ...Odd, I had a dream last week about dragging Mark to see it (Yes, he's moved to Ohio), and we somehow get seperated at the theater, so I wind up seeing it on my own... Lots of symbolism there: Having to learn to let him go (sort of) and move on, following my own path, I guess.

Up until last night (which was another night of sneezing and nose-blowing), I've been having very vivid dreams, the way I seem to do around the last weeks in August/the first weeks in September: I'll post an account of one of the wildest ones, but it would take a whole seperate entry.
