...In any given work-day would be enough to drive even the most social person into hiding. And do people know what binkys/pacifiers are and the miracles this little plug of vinyl can perform?! If I have to endure one more leather-lunged changeling howling in my ear...
Even my headspace-dwellers seem to be avoiding me, just so they don't have to listen to "the rabble" by proxy.
I'm trying to look past all that by looking at the good things I've had happen the past few days -- books I've had come in the mail and I've bought at the local bookstores, the MxO event that three of us have our heads together planning, reading Terry Pratchett's hysterical "Lords and Ladies" -- but it's a little hard to think of them when your head is still ringing from kids screaming in your ears at work... It's Midsummer's Eve and I usually feel that buzz of magic in the air, like the space-time fabric is stretched thin and anything could crack through, but right now, I feel pinned to the earth.
