Today wasn't quite as manic as yesterday was at work, but right when it suddenly *did* get manic, we still managed to run out of shopping carts, thus some of the managers had to hurry out and collect some of them from the lot.
Aside from that, I'm trying to do what I can to keep my cool. I read somewhere that eating spicy food can help improve your stress level, so I've been having tacos for lunch this week.
And this is wierd: the Salvation Army bellringer showed up Monday last week, but the actual bell-ringing has been intermittent. Supposedly someone complained that the bell-ringing was "annoying" so the bellringer had to stop ringing their bell. Several of the gals I work with think it was more than just someone getting irritated with the sound -- heck, I've got issues with my ears being sensitive to sound, but bell-ringing is not one of those sounds that sets me off: kids screaming and people whining and especially creaky old lady voices do. The general consensus among "the gals" is that it's a case of political correctness run amok, aka Grinchiness (remind me to tell the story about another case of PC run amok on the MxO, which I'm going to post to
bad_rpers_suck ). Needless to say, today the bells were in full ring, since this one especially cheerful bellringer, a gal in her early twenties, was on duty: and mind you, she wasn't just ringing her bells, she was dancing along with her iPod-knockoff and having a wonderful time for herself!
