Last night on dial-up
Feb. 23rd, 2007 12:31 amAnd it's not going down without a bit of a fight: it's acting slow and dithery, so I decideed not to jack into the MxO (my connection seems to like to die horribly when I'm on there, as it uses up an incredible amount of bandwidth), as I usually do most nights. Said a good friend of mine on Xfire, when I told him what was up: "It senses that it's being replaced."
I'll admit, I'm a little anxious: what kind of Pandora's Box might I just be opening? But my dad has been asking around with a few friends at work. Said one gal, "My sister was the only one home when it was being installed and she's a complete idiot. You'll be fine." Another guy used to work for Verizon and knew exactly what we're getting into and basically explained the whole thing to him.
Of the three of us, my mom has been the hardest to sell on the idea, mostly because the TV stations around here were still running Verizon DSL ads. She didn't think ther was any such thing as Fiber Optic Service... and then last night, I spotted a FiOS ad... and then it was on again tonight during "Supernatural" tonight. I think she's convinced now.
