Foot's doing a little better...
Nov. 13th, 2007 10:58 pmJust settling in after going to the library, where I found an interesting-looking YA book, "Vampire Academy". What has me curious is that one of the characters is a dhampire, ie. part human and part vampire. My foot is better than it was: I can put my weight on it again, but it's still a little tender and I have to go easy with it, which is no easy matter when I'm on my feet as much as I am at work.
EDITED TO ADD: Thanks to all of you folks who posted kind thoughts and words yesterday: I swear they helped ease my pain, even more than the Advil I've been taking!
And the wierd annoying thing of the moment: why is the Christmas music on the local Golden Oldies station so early? I put the radio on yesterday afternoon when I was resting, and Karen Carpenter's "Merry Christmas, Darling" was playing. And it was *VETERAN'S DAY*. Fortunately, the Boston Herald shed some light on this Also, the Lowell Sun has a few thoughts similar to my concerns about what's happening to Thanksgiving. Working in retail, I am smack in the middle of Christmas stuff rushing in, and the stuff for Thanksgiving seems to be getting pushed aside. It's like Thanskgiving is some sort of pre-Christmas warmup now. What happened to the Pilgrims and the Indians?
And any people fond of absinthe might find this interesting: Boston has lifted sanctions on the sale and consumption of la fee verte
