Dresden Files Ten: Mine!
Apr. 1st, 2008 10:09 pmAlthough I had a bit of an April Fool's prank unwittingly played on me when I went to get my copy: I went to the Burlington Mall Borders to pick it up, and I wound up looking through the whole store, trying to find it. There was a big space in the shelf in amongst the other Jum Butcher books, and I guessed that was where it had been. So I went to look on the new release rack: no luck there either. Finally, I asked a clerk if it had come in, and she directed me to a display just inside the door, which I had walked right by without looking at. Boy, I feel like a goof now! I'm currently taking a little break from reading it to say hello to all of you. I promise I'll keep the spoilers to myself.

In other news: the Christmas decorations are now gracing the inside of the Burlington Mall. No, it's not an early start on Christmas, they're currently in the middle of filming a movie, tentatively titled "Mall Cop", featuring Kevin James, of "King of Queens" fame, as a lovable slacker who gets a job as a mall cop at Christmas and finds himself having to fend off either inept robbers or inept terrorists who hold the mall hostage. I've heard it referred to as a parody of "Die Hard", in a shopping mall, and since this is practically on my home turf, I'm keeping tabs on what goes on. I may have unwittingly made a cameo appearance. They were filming in a Gymboree today and I had to walk by there to get to the front main entrance and the bus stop. So, if you see this movie and spot in the background, a gal with a bemused expression, clad in a too-big rain jacket and carrying a Borders bag, that's me!
