matrixrefugee: the word 'refugee' in electric green with a background of green matrix code (Black rose)
Our town's library was holding their once-a-month used book sale, so I got myself up early for a change and walked there. I found quite a few surprises, including a small boxed-set of "Buffy the Vampire-Slayer" videotapes (too bad it wasn't the DVDs, but I'm happy with 'em), Margot Fonteyn's "The Magic of Dance", which will make a lovely Mother's Day gift for my mom (I said as much to the ladies running the sale and they were delighted with that idea) and a book I'd been looking for, for some time now: Alfredn Niederman's "The Devil's Advocate", which was the basis for the Al Pacino-Keanu Reeves thriller of the same name (okay, maybe not the greatest movie in the world, but it's engrossing and Al Pacino makes one hell of a demonic lawyer...). Also got a handful of Lyndsay Sands paranormal romances -- alas, no Silouette Nocturnes; I'll have to try the quirky-named Got Books?, a used book store in an old warehouse in Reading, which donates most of their earnings to local charities, including a group that helps the families of soldiers in Iraq and a support/social networking group for mentally-challenged adults.
