Catch-up day

I think I got a lot more out of the retreat this year than last year; like last year, it was a three-day Ignatian retreat, ie. the talks and meditations were based on the first week of St. Ignatius Loyola's "Spiritual Exercises". I also learned something interesting: It seems Pope Paul VI established that special graces can be received to help the souls of the departed, if you offer up the difficulties you face at work. On hearing that, I thought to myself, "Hoo boy, there are probably going to be days when the angels have to shut down parts of Purgatory, because there's no one left there after all the graces I merited for the souls there!"

I didn't get a chance to post yesterday, due to work (which was crazy, but nothing out of the ordinary: like the Sixpence None The Richer song: "It's just another manic Monday" But there were a *LOT* of people buying multipacks of little bags of chips. Must be for school lunches next week...) also catching up on emails/various message-boards and doing laundry and vaccuuming that didn't get done Saturday... and also due to catching up on some craziness in MxO: seems another Merv faction has it in for the faction I'm in and we're dealing with that little mess (all in good fun, though: no deliberate, mean-spirited rivalry)

And the weather today is so cool and breezy, it's making me think of autumn, which is technically around the corner...
