Neil Gaiman's "Coraline" trailer

One of my many plans for next week is going to see the movie version of Neil Gaiman's "Coraline". Here's Neil himself offering a few thoughts on buttons:

What makes this trailer even cooler is that it was filmed in the front room and the library of his rambly Victorian house in Minnesota, where I always imagine "Coraline" taking place.

Dragons and web-hosting

If I've seemed a little more distracted lately, there's a good reason for it: I've been shopping around for a new web hosting service for my MxO faction's personal website. The site owner has trusted me with it's care after economic woes obliged him to suspend his Internet service. Fortunately, I've had some good recommendations from fellow members and some good help in the process of getting a small corner of the Internet carved out to host the site. More about it once we get the new site set up.

But for now: ye draggies! The silver is finally getting adventurous. Clickys to feed them, please?

Writer's Block: Fearsome

I think, ironically, it was the dark, or what might be lurking in it -- ghosts, monsters, etc. Which is colossally ironic now, since I've embraced the darkness and it's denizens, and now I'm a goth and an urban fantasy writer.

Little known Jim Henson film: "Time Piece"

One of my role-models as a creative person is Jim Henson; I have fond memories of watching his "Muppet Show" at my grandparents' house (my dad's parents) as a young child and I've been a big fan of his work ever since. I've been searching for this hard-to-find little surrealist film of his for several years now, and I had the good fortune to find a link for it while I was running some research on... gorilla suits (long story...):
