Rest in peace, Eunice Kennedy-Shriver

I'll admit, the Kennedy clan aren't necessarily my favorite people, but as a developmentally disabled person, I'd be very ungrateful if I didn't acknowledge the work that she did to better the lives of mentally disabled people, starting at a time when autism was often grouped under the same umbrella. I didn't know her personally, but I feel that a light has gone out in this world. Hopefully that means her light is burning just as brightly and perhaps even brighter in the next. St. Maximilian Kolbe ("Uncle Max" to me) once said, "On earth, we must cling like death to life with one hand, and serve only with the other; but in heaven, we shall work with both hands free." I think she's up there now, working with both hands to help those whom the French so aptly call "les petite bouffons de le Bon Dieu".
