matrixrefugee: the word 'refugee' in electric green with a background of green matrix code (Black rose)
The three of us ventured out to Salem today, but we didn't get very much accomplished, since the weather decided to turn nasty, which made going on a ghostly walking tour a not so pleasant idea. We did manage to pop into a few bookshops, etc, including:

--Cornerstone Books, where I picked up an autographed copy of Katherine Howe's "The Physicke Book of Deliverance Dane"; the author, it turns out, is related to two different women who were implicated in the Salem Witch Hysteria and it seems she based the story somewhat on her own research about her ancestors;

--Derby Square Books, of the infamous wall-to-wall and almost floor to ceiling stacks of books, where I found one of White Wolf's old World of Darkness -- Vampire: the Masquerade novels;

--The Magic Parlor, where I got some cone frankincense for a chiminea-style incense burner that my dad had found at a yard sale (and which I plan to include amongst the bric-a-brac for our yard haunting;

--Harrison's Comics, where I picked up three volumes of "Descendants of Darkness" (aka. "Yami no Matsuei"); I'm almost wishing I'd grabbed the other three, but NaNoWriMo is coming up and I'll be needing to budget reading time vs. writing time,

--Witch City Consignments, since my mom was looking for a new bedroom dresser; my dad found a nice mahogany one for about $100

The day could have gone better, but I still had a lot of fun. I'm just wishing the weather had cooperated better; better luck next year.
