matrixrefugee: the word 'refugee' in electric green with a background of green matrix code (NaNoWriMo 2008)
And I've made progress even in the first hours of NaNo'ing:

946 / 50000 words. 2% done!

Fittingly for Hallowe'en night, one bit dealt with death and a survivor grieving (yes, there is character death already in this fic), while another bit dealt with Enniel in a blood-stained bedsheet and a squicked Fuyutsuki finding out more than he'd like to, scientist that he is, about Grigori anatomy (could have everything to do with making these discoveries at an unholy hour of the night...).

I've always loved how Walt Disney paired these two so vastly different pieces of classical music: Modest Moussorgsky's "Night on Bald Mountain", with it's sound painting of a hellish bacchanal, with Franz Schubert's "Ave Maria", with it's touching religious sentiment. Perfect for these two so differing feast days...

I guess it must be from everyone hitting the sites at once: My last two widgets seem to have died on the page. So I stole this one from [livejournal.com profile] zekkass:

I've used Write or Die in the past: fun little motivator! I've been writing a few scenelets here and there all over the chronology of the storyline (to give myself a few signposts along the way), but I did get one large chunk typed up, namely most of the scene which I've started to call "the infamous 'Enniel in a blood-soaked bedsheet' scene". I may post that later, but we'll see.

Edited to fix horrible typo in someone's username (Gaah, sorry!! :: Laughs at self::

Pick a paragraph (or any passage less than 500 words) from any fanfic I've written, and comment to this post with that selection. I will then give you a DVD commentary on that snippet: what I was thinking when I wrote it, why I wrote it in the first place, what's going on in the character's heads, why I chose certain words, what this moment means in the context of the rest of the fic, lots of awful puns, and anything else that you'd expect to find on a DVD commentary track.
