matrixrefugee: the word 'refugee' in electric green with a background of green matrix code (Sky Captain)
My once-a-month jaunt to the Barnes & Noble in Salem, N.H.:

--Finding last minute Christmas gifty odds and ends.

--"Adopting" a cute little unicorn plush (I'm calling him "the Christmas Unicorn", since has a little red and white braid collar about his neck)

--Donating another book to a home for at-risk kids (the lovely Richelle Mead's equally lovely "Vampire Academy")

--A red velvet cupcake with a cup of hot chai

--Writing a Yami no Matsuei fanfic in a cafe.

Does it get much better....?

It does when Jude Law is on the David Letterman show later on... Will post the video when I can find it...

(Does does nicking something take points off my score??) The Santa Letter meme!

Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

This year I've been busy!

Last Wednesday I donated bone marrow to [livejournal.com profile] crowdog66 in a life-saving procedure (300 points). In October I helped [livejournal.com profile] lpaxton across the street (6 points). In August I caught a purse-snatcher who stole [livejournal.com profile] drivingblind's purse (30 points). In April I helped [livejournal.com profile] q_m_n hide a body (-173 points). Last Monday I punched [livejournal.com profile] memethesheep in the arm (-10 points).

Overall, I've been nice (153 points). For Christmas I deserve a Sony Playstation 3!

Sincerely,
matrixrefugee

Short answer: Tea!

Long answer: I am a tea person, never been much of a coffee person (except for the odd mocha latte here and there). Green tea is my absolute favorite: iced, hot, spiced, chai, plain, pretty much doesn't matter (aside from green tea with some kind of weird jujuba-herbs mixed in, at the Teavana in the Burlington Mall today. Oy! It was supposed to be some kind of healthy mood-enhancer herb, but it made my eyes bug out and water). Black tea is a good mid-afternoon perk-me-up, white tea can be a little bland, but it's still good. For some reason, I seem to write better with a cup of tea within arm's reach of the keyboard, and I've found I can withstand noise levels (and whining levels) at work better if I've started the day off with a cup of green tea. I'm even considering teaching myself the Japanese tea ceremony, partly to enrich my skills and partly as a relaxation technique.
