Yep, I am still working on this challenge, it's just being slower to produce than the Christmas challenge, for some odd reason. I fudged on the "engagement ring, wedding band" prompt and made this into the much less committal "jewelry", since it's a high school story.
A red rose and a white rose tied together with a golden silk ribbon, for Henry and Monica Swinton;
A tiny pink rosebud and a thick thorny stem without any blossoms at all for Kenpachi Zaraki and Yachiru
A rose so dark a red that it is almost maroon, with heavy thorns hidden under its lush green leaves, and a brighter red rose with few thorns, tied together with a delicate silver chain, for the Merovingian and Neo
A twig of pink and a twig of white wild roses, with thick, brambly stems, bound together with a red velvet cord, for Phedre no Delaunay and Melisande Shahrizai.
A small blue rose and a white and yellow daisy tied together with a big blue ribbon for David and Teddy
A small black rosebud for Rukia Kuchiki
A tiny white rosebud and a brilliant red rose with sharp thorns for Ukyou Sakuraiji and Kazutaka Muraki.

Author's Note: Technically this is a younger!Muraki/Ukyou story, bit it turned into an unrequited younger!Rika/Ukyou story as well. The idea came to me when I was re-reading Vol. 6 of the manga: I love how Rika and Chidsuru get a second chance there, even though Chidsuru is now a shinigami. And I can so totally see Rika crushing on Ukyou back when the bunch of them were in high school: it's hard not to, since Ukyou is so kyoot (just don't let her boyfriend/fiance find out that you've got a thing for her: depending on when it occurs, you could end up dead or worse, as one of his patients...). And I had to stop and go "Awwww..." every so often while I was writing a younger, sadder, and gentler Muraki: he's very different here, as he hasn't yet given in to his inner demons... though there's a hint that not all is well with him...
