matrixrefugeeJust been browsing in the "Matrix" section over on ff.n, and I ran across what I was afraid was a badfic. To those of you familiar with those anNOYing "everyone's in high school! ::Insert character:: is a jock, ::Insert another character:: is a goth, ::Insert still another character:: is a cheerleader!" fics. I mean, does this sound promising, when one of the author's other fics featured the Twins as cute little three year olds, who are also Persephone and the Merovingian's little kids? (Yeah, I fail to see the family resemblence, too.)
TWINSFIC! In order to save them, the Twins are torn from their loving parents at an early age and are forced into a new and fearful way of life in the Merovingian’s elite boarding school.
But as always, I decided to let the story stand on it's own merit, and I read it. I was delightfully surprised. Take a look:

And I got another fic reccomendation, this one being the brain child of one of my faction buddies. The writing is a little clumsy in places, and I find the part where the Snarky Fellow turns up, to be a little less than credible, but I still like it and the guy who wrote it is one of the best RPers in the faction I'm in:

And now the rant: I really think that the CSR option (for reporting player misconduct) should be used more often and by more discriminating MxO players. By all accounts, the MxO is one of the worst-policed MMOs out there, and I believe that claim to have some credibility, even though this is the only MMO I've ever played. There's too many kiddie players on there who just don't know how to behave. I've avoided the Vector-Hostile server like the plague since I've heard too many horror stories about otherwise serious players getting horribly ganked by kiddie players at hardlines. I'm tired of reading the 733t-sp33k raddled nonsense in Area chat, and the idiots who spam the System messages with stoopid emotes over and over and over and *OVER* again, until you want to klotz them one in the kisser to get them to cut it out. There's times when I'm running missions solo and I have to shut off the chat option since I get sick of seeing the nonsense as I'm running through an area.
Problem is, this is only going to get much worse, since now there's a free trial-ware version of the MxO availible from Fileplanet, starting tomorrow. Puck, Becca, I would be delighted if you two would join and knock some sense into the idiots on there. The faction I'm in, The Devil's Advocates of Recursion, would gladly welcome the both of you on board. It would be lovely to have some new players on there who actually know how to RP properly.
And dirty RPers.... yeah... there's one girl in particular who's caused so much commotion that she's practically alienated everyone who's a good RPer. Yes, Puck, I'm talking about a certain girl I told you about. If there's anyone who deserves to be permabanned from the game, it's her for making the game Not Fun for several players. It was bad enough when she had to pull the Mary Sue "Oh, I'm a vampire out in the Real, too!" now she's been going around chomping everything that moves and turning people's characters against their will. I wanted to incorporate a bit where Sieges goes after this Certain Female and pulls a Van Hellsing on her (ie. cuts off She Who Bites Everything's head with a sword, even though we don't have swords yet -- a dagger token off one of the gang spawn makes a good stand in sword), but it's not like that would take her down, since like a true Mary Sue, hey presto! her fangs they grow right back. I think she needs an encounter with Puck the Mighty Mary Sue Slayer...
Yes, as I've said several times elsewhere, this twerp has gone after my character, and to be honest, there's certain areas I avoid in the game, since I don't want a repeat of that incident. My account is up for renewal in a few days, and if I should happen to cross paths with *HER* again (it just might, since I was going to take part in a mini-RP event that would bring me onto *HER* turf) and she puts the bite on me against my will, I may just let my account die. I'd rather save the $15 a month I'm putting into this than have to play a game where behavior like that is ignored by the developers. I'm sick of having my fun spoiled by jerks who think the whole goddamned world revolves around them. This is why I'm so anti-social at times: I'm sick of seeing all the brats out there. I put up with them at work, I don't need to put up with them when I'm trying to play a game. Didn't their parents ever say "No, you can't do that." to them? Not once?! "Oh my, I don't want Suzy to grow up repressed." I could stand for a little repression, if you don't mind.
To any MxO players reading this, beyond the /ignore command, which doesn't apply to Area chat, is there any way to put out something like a restraining order on certain players? Because I could use one on this person, since I am genuinely disgusted and annoyed with her. I don't even want to *SEE* her in there.
