Near-panic attack
Jun. 3rd, 2006 03:42 pmHappened at work today... I was supposed to work a seven-hour shift this afternoon, but that turned into a three-and-a-half hour shift, when I had a near-panic attack. I was hyperventilating, my heart was racing and I was ready to burst into tears, after dealling with this fussy old biddy who had to get nit-picky about how her dry dog-food boxes got bagged. Next thing I know, "Mike the Angel", who's been filling in for the Frenchman, and this earth-mother of a woman who'd been next in line after the fussy old biddy, were helping me to a seat nearby. I ended up doing what usually happens: I started crying profusely and apologising just as profusely. Mike let me take a breather until I felt a little more like myself, then asked me what I thought I should do. I admitted I've been under a lot of stress lately, and that I felt it was best if I took it easy. I still ended up apologizing for messing up so horribly...
