Butterflies at the beach
Jul. 31st, 2006 12:45 pmJust got back from our annual breakfast on the beach at Northampton Beach, in New Hampshire. We drove up in the Mustang convertible that technically belongs to my mom, but my dad drives it since he's the only one in the family with a valid license (I decided I'm too skittish on the road.). Perfect day for it! The heat and humidity finally broke yesterday (One of the reasons I haven't been posting very often lately: it's been so hot, I haven't felt much like posting, aside from a couple of
fanficrants pieces. Even
sieges has been slacking off with her journal.); let's hope this means my wretched sinuses will finally start draining.
But, back to the beach. There were an inordinate number of monarch butterflies fluttering around, and it's been like that everywhere. I've just never seen them at the beach until now. We had our breakfast sitting on the wall that rims the beach. A centipede wanted to join us, but my mom pushed him off! Then she was keeping an eye on him to make sure he didn't try coming back, but the centipede decided to explore the rocks and sand below the wall instead.
