Wild Weather!!

Still humid as Florida here, so consequently my sinuses are still acting up, though I slept better last night. But I hope the thunderstorms that ripped this afternoon will help get rid of it, for all the noise it made!! I'm not afraid of thunderstorms, except at night (the bright flashing light and the noise scares me almost to death, especially when I get woken out of a sound sleep!)), but this one got pretty close: at one point, I was counting 2 seconds, 1 second between the flash and the thunder: that meant the storm was almost overhead. I ducked out of my room (which has two large windows) and nipped out into the upstairs hallway just to find a little better protection.

Well, a funny thing happened in the middle of all this. My mom was downstairs praying, when I heard her chortle, right after a particularly LOUD and *close* crash of thunder. I peeked down and asked, as I always do when I hear her chuckle like that, "Did I hear the lilt of Irish laughter?" ((Translation: what's so funny?))

Mom: "I'd just prayed, 'O light and darkness, bless the Lord, ye clouds and lightning praise Him'. BOOMM!!"

MR: "Talk about timing!!"
