It turns out things aren't working out so well for my dad at his new job. The commute's too long and the work environment isn't quite what he was hoping it would be. Fortunately, someone from another greenhouse, a family-owned place that has at least three or four garden centers in the area (including one just down the street and around the corner from us), is looking for him, wanting to hire him. So... there's a close chance that he might get hired there; I'm hoping that he does, and I'm hoping that they place him at the garden center here in town.

Brought some tomatoes over to our neighbor: we had plenty to share! Those vines sure produce a lot of tomatoes...

Got my hair cut today, so I can cross that off the list of things to do for the sci-fi convention. Now I just have to get the infamous pair of black leggings and the sleeveless black leotard... and the water guns. There's some Glock-ish looking suction-cup dart guns at Market Basket, so I might just get those when I pick up my paycheck tomorrow, on my way out to withdraw the money for the necessary costume parts.
