Bad and good in balance for a change
May. 15th, 2007 08:17 pmThe Bad: I met our new supervisor at work today, and unfortunately, he's starting to score a lot of arse-hole points.
1st strike: I punched in about ten minutes late, and I had to explain to him *twice* that this is not a normal occurance, that I did so only because I'm not feeling well.
2nd strike: Exaggerated my lateness to his assistant, Van, and claimed I punched in a half an hour late, which meant I didn't get my break until almost four hours into my shift.
3rd strike: People called in sick (gee, I wonder why...), he promptly starts calling *everyone* who was having the day off to try and get them to come fill in.
The guy is such a Nazi I started calling him "Major Montana Max" behind his back... except that labelling him this way would be an insult to the head of Millenium, in the Hellsing series.
The Good (well, sort of...): Jerry Falwell is dead. No more guff gushed against homosexuals, etc. at least from that quarter. If there was anyone who needed to take to heart the verse "Judge not, and ye shall not be judged", it was this guy. I feel sorry for his family, because they lost a loved one, but I'm not sorry to see this guy go. I hope he spends a long time in purgatory for his sins of intolerance. Perhaps that purgatory could be riding shotgun in the head of some young person with a same-sex attraction quirk and seeing how hard it is to be that person in that situation.

Date: 2007-05-16 02:36 am (UTC)The Phelps/Falwell thing reminds me of something my father says when he hears about, "Being gay is a choice". He told me, "Well, if it's a choice, will they [the nutty preachers] be angry at me if I ask, 'So when did you decide to stop being gay?'"
And I hope my email wasn't too harsh, but I felt that you were on the verge of cutting off your nose to spite your face, as it were, and people that do that need a good strong kick in the pants ;-) . No hard feelings were intended.
