Hysterical book find
May. 31st, 2007 09:17 pmWhich I didn't buy, but it was worth running across. I believe the title was "Funny Grocery Lists": a collection of actual grocery lists that some wag had found over the course of several years and added his own playful comments to his finds. Since I work in grocery, this one was right up my alley: I thought I'd seen some funny lists, but I've never seen one with "Hookers and Blow" (Comment added: "Maybe they meant fishing tackle and a hair drier?"). Or a list that had obviously been written up by a kid and an adult (two sets of handwriting, one of them much more clear -- except half the words were misspelled). Or strange abbreviations. Or obsessive-compulsive lists that had the prices of stuff jotted down (I've seen lists like that).

I love random ephemera...it's such an interesting way to peek into other people's lives.
