Falmouth Cook-out
Aug. 16th, 2007 11:16 pmJust back from a company cook-out for the family-owned greenhouses/garden center my dad works for, at their location in Falmouth. My dad and "Karrin", one of his co-workers (more like a work-buddy, since they've become good friends), had never been there, so him, her and I drove down there with another co-worker, also named "Karrin" (or "Koo-Koo Karrin" as my dad calls her, because she *is* koo-koo, in a harmless way). The place is *HUGE* with acres and acres of plants for sale... and lots of butterflies and bumblebees flying around the flowers. We also nipped over to their smaller garden center, in Osterville for a look-see.
On the way back, we got a bit twisted around and ended up taking a short scenic ride through the northern part of Cape Cod, which brought us past a cranberry bog with lovely white egrets wading around in it, and a length of power lines on which a flock of cormorants was perching, watching the water below for any unsuspecting fish swimming by.
