Got half of my word count for the day accomplished early this morning. The reason being: this one person I know is inSIStant than you can't write 50,000 words in one month. Apparently they tried the NaNoWriMo challenge once and didn't succeed, so now they seem to think that if they could't do it, nobody can. It hurt to hear them say that, but... I'm taking that pain and using it as the impetus to get more accomplished today and the next day and the next and the next... and then come November 30th, take the document and wave it in the air singing an old chestnut from a Fred Astaire/Ginger Rogers movie: "They all laughed at Christopher Columbus/When he said the earth is round/But ho-ho-ho/Who's got the last laugh now?"
