Other News of the past week
Nov. 1st, 2004 12:38 amTypical of depression bouts, I lose track of what happened:
Tuesday, October 26th -- Finished redoing the AIFFOA: Fanfiction.net is using new, shortened URLs, so I had to fix all the older links, which meant going in and redoing the HTML... I finally have that finished, plus I added the long-expected page of "A.I." filks (mostly Joshua Falken's, with a few of my own and one by "Chicken Person"). I also had enough time to nip into the Barnes & Noble and buy "The Sandman: Book of Dreams", a collection of "authorized fanfictions" set in the universe of "The Sandman" and written by several famous fantasy writers. I'm delighted at the sheer number of stories in it dealing with Desire... I figured Death would get a lot of coverage since she's the most popular character in that series, but I guessed wrong.
Friday, October 29th -- Talk about fast mail service: I ordered Book 3 of "The Sandman" (which the Lowell library is missing: someone apparantly nicked it) through Amazon.com on Tuesday, and it showed up today. Plus, I found the dead branch to use for my Hallowe'en tree. Because of the emotional stock market crash I'd had the night before, I went into work later than I was scheduled to: I couldn't stand facing the object of my hopes so soon or for any projected length of time.
Saturday, October 30th -- It appears that the co-worker I confessed to regarding my interest in a certain supervisor was idiotic enough to tell that particular gentleman what was up with me: I gave him a Hallowe'en card, but he only absently thanked me for it. I'm angry that my confidence was violated, but I'm not letting that get in my way: I'll lie low for a while, not let it look like I *am* really that interested, but slowly I'll start to let him know...
I'm the one for him. I'm a decent, innocent, gentle creature, at times I can be aggressive, but I'm never mean. I may be high-maintenance emotionally, but materially, I'm extremely low-maintenance. I'm content with wearing Wal-Mart clothes (preferably black or green) and buying used books/CDs/DVDs via Amazon.com. Just give me a kind word and a hug every so often and I'm happy. I don't need to go on vacation in the Bahamas or some expensive place like that: Five days of WorldCon will do...
