You know, if your significant other makes you decide between them and your friends (for whatever reasons or in whatever manner), this is a bad sign that they are a control freak of the biggest sort. So the answer would be: I'd take my friends, and enlist their aide in getting Mr. Edwierd-wannabe off my back.
