matrixrefugee: the word 'refugee' in electric green with a background of green matrix code ("Welcome to my Life")

...Someone on the EvaGeeks forum pointed me toward an eBay listing for NGE vols 8 & 9: the dealer wants to unload them stat, so thankfully there's a Buy It Now price. The downside is, he's in England and I'll have to pay extra postage, *if* the dealer is willing to change his standard operating procedure and ship overseas. Wish me luck and put out good vibes (who's the patron saint of bookselling? I want to think it's my crabby, snarky "friend" St. Jerome) that I finally land this (Okay, yes, that means I'll have a duplicate vol 8, but I can probably sell it to Larry the Comics Guy. Maybe not, since it does feature the wintry one's backstory...).

Not the best day at work today: I got my head bitten off by two different old ladies in the space of ten minutes... over things that were beyond my or her control. I'm sorry, but I didn't set up the store layout: if I had, there would be a number of remote-controlled trapdoors in all the aisles, leading to a tank full of alligators under the floor. And I'd be the only one who has the remote. Also I have no control over the codes for the produce or the tired cashier's slipping fingers, either. If I did, I'd influence her fingers to pull your false teeth out of your little prune mouth and bite you with them. To say nothing of the weather-whining: one day of intermittent sun and rain squalls and they all act like we haven't had any sun in a month.

Little old ladies talk - and bitch - about anything and everything.

I think it's the desperation to talk to people in general and years of bitterness built up.

Honestly, hope that I'm pleasantly confused when I'm old, as opposed to cantankerous.

Hee, I hope for the same thing when I get to that age, and you're right, they're probably just lonely...
