eBay buys and Miyazaki night
Oct. 18th, 2009 01:41 amJust heard back from the fellow in England who had Evangelion vol. 9 for sale... turns out he didn't get back to me sooner because his Internet connection was down for a week. The offer is still open and he's willing to ship overseas, he just has to get the package weighed so he can give me a definite figure on the shipping fees. So with a little luck, maybe by the end of the month or the beginning of next, I'll have achieved what had started to feel impossible (Wonder if this had anything to do with the candle I lit before the statue of St. Jude the last time I was at St. Joe's in Lowell.... I know it was probably a silly thing to light a candle for, but I figured it was time to call in reinforcements).
Just finished watching "My Neighbor Totoro": WOW! And awwww, kyoot! Magical realism for the win: you somehow feel like you're right there in the countryside, having these cozy-magical-wondrous adventures with two little girls. Definitely adding this to the "list of anime to share with my folks". (Hard to believe that Hayao Miyazaki was a mentor to Hideaki Anno, but I guess opposites sometimes work well together)
