That raises a thought that I had last night. Wouldn't the need for a presidential candidate to be a natural-born U.S. citizen retroactively invalidate the presidencies of the first several presidents? Washington, John Adams, John Quincy Adams and Thomas Jefferson were born British subjects.

I'm not saying that the citizenship issue is meaningless, I just think people are getting their knickers into knots over things that may not be as important in the grand scale of things.
