The lady who made my whole night at work
Jul. 9th, 2005 11:36 pmIt's been a while since I posted any decent grocery store hijinks, but this is the best thing that happened to me at work in a while.
This pair of ladies in their mid-to-late sixties comes through the register. They looked like they might have been twins, but they were dressed differently: One's dressed casually (jeans and a sleeveless blouse), other's buttoned up to the jaw and wrists. They've got two seperate orders in one carriage. I finish bagging the casually-dressed one's order; she pays for it; I start bagging the buttoned-up one's order. I'm on the third bag when she chimes in: "Hey, I wanted paper bags in plastic bags. Take all that out of those plastic bags and put them in *paper* bags in plastic bags!"
Her casually-dressed sister turns to her and says, "That's the bags she put it in, so that's the bags you get." Then she turns to me and in an sympathetic voice says, "Some people just live to complain." I could have hugged her for that,
