Three for the price of one: the two "A.I." ones are the first fics I've written for this fandom in a long time, the second being an idea that just came out of *nowhere*, though I think listening to one of the CDs I burned of Bryan "Pazu" Harrison's fan-novelization had something to do with it. The one "Matrix" fic is a preview of the fan-novel I'm writing based on the Merovingian's backstory.
Title: Never Let Go
Day/Theme: August 14: All night long I've held your hand
Series: "A.I.: Artificial Intelligence"
Character/Pairing: Gigolo Joe/ Samantha Bevins
Rating: PG-13
For two hours, thirty mintues and twenty seconds, Joe has pleasured his latest customer, a Miss Samantha Bevins; now, five hours, seven minutes and forty seconds later, he had lain behind her, his arms about her waist, her delicate hand cupped in one of his hands, exactly in the same place it had been when she had slipped into a contented sleep.
She'd bought his services for the night; given his synthetic make, he could have given her an entire night of delights, had she the stamina to match. But she had come chiefly for companionship while her husband was away on yet another long business trip, partly out of curiosity, after her girlfriends had told her how much better a lover-Mecha was than a real man.
She stirred and awakened, shifting her hand in his without withdrawing. "You didn't let go," she said.
"Yes. All night long, I have held your hand, as I have held you, the way you asked me to," he said.
"I did?"
"Your last words as you sank into slumber were 'Don't let me go'."
"That's something Norm would never do, even if I asked," she said, letting go of his hand before turning in his arms and kissing him.
"Let me show you other things he would doubtlessly never do..."

Title: Romantic Complications
Day/Theme: August 14: All night long I've held your hand
Series: "A.I.: Artificial Intelligence"
Character/Pairing: Siyatu-sama/Original female Mecha character
Rating: PG-13
The alarm went off, nudging Hayao Siyatu-sama out of a sound sleep. He opened his eyes and found the red-headed lover-model he had been "testing" the night before still beside him. As he started to sit up, he found one of his hands still clasping one of hers: Odd, he rarely did that with the models he 'tested'. He'd heard of female testers acting this "touchy-feelly" with the models they tested, even getting attached to them. But male testers usually saw the pleasure-bots for what they were: machines, sentient toys, useful household gadgets.
But something pricked at his soul, something Grace, one of Dr. Hobby's new interns, had said during the presentation yesterday morning:
"If a robot could genuinely love a person, what responsibility does that person hold toward that Mecha?"
If they pulled off a successful child-subsititute Mecha, what was to stop someone from modifying those programming parameters to fit an adult model. It would certainly complicate the fact that so many people already turned against their loved ones for using a lover-Mecha to relieve their loneliness. And how would the Mechas with that kind of programming react to seeing their 'beloved' treated so, or if their 'beloved' grew tired of them and wished to move on? What then?

Title: Bound and Determined
Day/Theme: August 14: All night long I've held your hand
Series: "The Matrix"
Character/Pairing: The Merovingian/Original Female Character
Rating: PG-13
M. Merovee looked old enough to be Estelle's father, but in bed, he had a stamina she'd seen only in some young men, yet he coupled this with a tenderness she'd rarely seen. And her amourous adventures while on concert tour had given her the chance to consort with so many different lovers. But now she lay with her head pillowed on his shoulder while he slept, one of her hands on top of his left hand, as it lay on his chest. Her fingertips touched the band of gold on his ring finger; if only her initials could be next to his on the engraving that encircled it. If only they could be together like this every night, for as long as they both lived.
She slipped out of his embrace and carefully started to ease the ring from his finger.
Something crackled like a stuttering fax modem and she felt the ring turn hot under her touch. She let it go.
He awoke with a gasp, his body tensing. "Did I hurt you?" she asked.
"You bent my finger backwards, hard enough to cause me pain enough to awaken me from a sound sleep," he said, rubbing his hand with the fingers of the other.
"I'm sorry. It was a stupid thing to do," she said.
"Were you trying to awaken me? There are far more gentle ways to arouse me from my repose," he said, with gently leering smirk, underlining his playful double entendre.
"I was trying to remove your ring," she admitted.
"So you would want me for yourself, your own personal tame lion?" he asked, gazing up at her fondly, his blue-grey-green eyes narrowing slyly before growing serious. "I would not advise you to attempt that: It would cause more harm than good." He said this with so much conviction, she felt a momentary pang of guilt
He seemed to sense this in her. He drew her down beside him, clasping her hands in his. "But the night will soon end: let us enjoy what remains of its sheltering shadows..."
