I'm basing it on something that happened to me online this past summer, when a nasty "Matrix" fanbrat and her cronies ganged up on me and some online pals of mine after I posted a less than favorable but polite review to her blatantly obvious Mary Sue/Agent Smith romance fic. Of course I've taken the trouble to heavily fictionalize the events and change names and identities to protect the innocent and not so innocent. I'm writing the novel in the form of IM logs, simulated messageboard postings and even excerpts from a fake bad fanfiction, based on an equally fake fandom. This makes it easier, since thirty percent of the novel is going to include some incredibly and deliberately bad writing, though the bad writing will be easier for the reader to stomach since it'll be intercut with snarky commentary, as part of the fake messageboard posts.

I'm gonna try and get it published, actually, possibly through Lulu.com. I've already had a couple other people say they want to see it, and come the end of November, I might post a few excerpts on here for all of you to see, as a kind of preview.

Inter-fandom wars. Sigh.

But as I've got good friends on both sides, I shan't say anything much about it.
