Today and last Tuesday
Oct. 5th, 2004 06:19 pmI was too depressed to write about each day last week, so I'll piggy-back today's entry with last week's...
LAST TUESDAY -- It rained, and that added to the nasty mood I was in. I went into Lowell late, hoping the rain would let up... Got Books 2, 4, & 5 of Neil Gaiman's "Sandman" series... wow! This is frankly heady stuff! It was time to return Book 1: "Preludes and Nocturnes", and I had a heck of a time letting go of it; I am *definately* gonna see if I can get these of amazon.com... Proof of how much I like this series, I'm thinking of dressing as Death, Dream's older sister, for Halloween; I got the black bodysuit, all I need is a large ankh pendant and to tease up my hair.
And then when I got home, I discovered that my boss had called asking me to come in to work to fill in for someone who hadn't shown up... Then, since it was slow on account of the rain, I had to endure the cashier in my lane and the sacker in the next lane jabbering about which clerk is catting around with whom.... that only succeeded in making me worse...
THIS TUESDAY -- Thankfully, I had an appointment with my therapist today... I printed out the horrible angsty entry about two or three posts back and shared it with her, just to put it in a nutshell. It's even officially on the record, as in, she put it in my case file.
Went to the library downtown; they finally got Helen Fisher's "Why We Love", a book by an anthropologist who ran functional MRIs on people at various stages of romantic love and thus made some remarkable discoveries. I've been wanting this book since it spells out pretty much what I'm going through, and I wanted to show it to my mother so she'll at least have some scientific proof.
And I managed to get some work done at the CyberCafe, making/posting funny banner pics for godawful.net, two "A.I." themed pics, and one "Matrix: Reloaded" pic:
( Banners behind the Cut )
Only trouble is, the wireless 'Net connection DIED in the CyberCafe, so I didn't manage to finish some of my work, namely, updating the AIFFOA...
Swiped another quiz off someone's LJ:
