Snow!!!

It's snowing!!!

Of course that meant the store was jammed last night and earlier tonight: I had to work from three in the afternoon till closing... but I ended up going home earlier than usual, since they ran out of work for me to do.

And there are silly people zipping past my house, going down the street... on snow-mobiles/ski-mobiles. They really aren't supposed to do that, but they sneak out anyway. ...Then there's always the time, some years ago, when a bunch of people -- clearly all from the same family -- passed by on skis. And then they all came back, carrying bags of groceries strapped to their backs. They looked like they were having a grand old time for themselves!

Tense...

I'm feeling very tense... I've got an appointment with a neurologist at Lahey Clinic tomorrow, about whatever the heck is going on in my head. Frankly, I'm scared. I've done neurological evals before, and I find them boring and demeaning to my intellect. Just scan my brain or tape electrodes all over my noggin and hook me up to an EEG, for God's sake. No more asking me to list as many words starting with the letter of choice, or having me read jejune symbols off 8-x-11 inch cards, s'il voux plait.

My worst fear is completely irrational: I'm afraid they won't find anything wrong, or nothing that they can put a name to, even though I'm going through all this gack and to me at least, there's obviously something flukey going on upstairs. I've waited 15 years to finally find out what's wrong with me, and I'm afraid I never will find out, that I'll just go through life falling between the cracks in the system, and no one will care to help me because I've got the "no-name condition".
