matrixrefugee: the word 'refugee' in electric green with a background of green matrix code (Merovingian)
I got a substantial amount of Chapter Four of "The Smoke of Satan..." written today, though I have to admit, the demonic plotbunnies for "Changing of the Guard" are gnawing at my toes. ::Borrows Constantine's Holy Shotgun to blow a few off:: Mefistofel showed up unexpectedly, and I like the scene enough to retain it. Hopefully I can get this finished tomorrow, typed later in the week and posted by Friday. It's gonna be a tough one to put together, since one scene is going to be completely retooled, namely, a bit where Constantine nips back to LA for some supplies, and bumps into Mefisto in Midnite's club. There's the PG-13 version, and there's the R-rate version, complete with demon slash, but both of them have slightly similar dialogue and the endings are similar.

Also poking at a few DegSep ficlets... if the Merv would *stop* giving me tantalizing little flashes of his life pre-Persephone. And more of Flood's backstory is falling into place, since I've been "chit-chatting" with a few other elder Exiles about their activity in the Second Matrix. The Floodwatchman is unwilling divulge much about his past, though he's starting to get more open with me. I don't know if that's a good thing or not...

No, that is not a line of surrealist poetry; it's one of the bugs that got fixed in the MxO, according to their most recent patch/bug-fixing report. I never realized until now how funny they were, until I read today's rundown.

It's been a quietly busy day: I finally finished Chapter Four of "The Smoke of Satan...", which now needs a nifty title so I can get cracking typing it. I've got both versions ready to go: the R-rated version, complete with a deliciously wierd encounter between two demons, and the PG-13 version, with the near bar-brawl between a snarky demon and a certain demon-hunter.

And I finally got started on another DegSep ficlet I've been promising Laurie: Smith confronting Flood, re: the Merv's stylish henchman's attention to Emily.

Friday Sept. 23: Boston, Harvard Book Store

Mark that on your calenders, Massachusetts-dwellers. That is the day when Neil Gaiman will be in town as part of his U.S. book tour promoting "Anansi Boys". I'm already planning to take the day off, take the T into Cambridge (It says "Boston", but that's really Cambridge.), get a couple things signed, namely my battered copy of "The Sandman 3: Dream Country", which would certainly raise the value of that poor little reject from a Pennsylvania library.
