matrixrefugeeI got a substantial amount of Chapter Four of "The Smoke of Satan..." written today, though I have to admit, the demonic plotbunnies for "Changing of the Guard" are gnawing at my toes. ::Borrows Constantine's Holy Shotgun to blow a few off:: Mefistofel showed up unexpectedly, and I like the scene enough to retain it. Hopefully I can get this finished tomorrow, typed later in the week and posted by Friday. It's gonna be a tough one to put together, since one scene is going to be completely retooled, namely, a bit where Constantine nips back to LA for some supplies, and bumps into Mefisto in Midnite's club. There's the PG-13 version, and there's the R-rate version, complete with demon slash, but both of them have slightly similar dialogue and the endings are similar.
Also poking at a few DegSep ficlets... if the Merv would *stop* giving me tantalizing little flashes of his life pre-Persephone. And more of Flood's backstory is falling into place, since I've been "chit-chatting" with a few other elder Exiles about their activity in the Second Matrix. The Floodwatchman is unwilling divulge much about his past, though he's starting to get more open with me. I don't know if that's a good thing or not...
