Hot day with bad news

Just a boring day at work (Note to the people who tell me they envy the fact that I get to work in the nice air-conditioning: Don't envy me. Why not? Because when I get out of work at the end of my shift, it's so warm out there, it causes my glasses to fog up since I've been in the cold for several hours.), though I finally managed to work out what happens in the last two chapters of "The Smoke of Satan". I'm working on that tommorrow and Thursday, since Wednesday looks like it's going to be toast:

The good news: the Frenchman gave me a couple of four hour shifts this week (Wednesday and Friday), which I like the looks of, since that'll give me an extra $12 I could really use right now.

The bad news: My mother may have to look after "Angelica", the kid she babysits, from seven-thirty in the morning till her dad comes to pick her up at five-thirty that evening. Thank God I won't be around from 2 to 6, so I won't have to put up with her then. I just have to put up with a banshee first thing in the morning, and I usually don't get up till around 9 or 10, since I'm a night owl by nature. ::Does her best impression of a screech owl's descending-ascending wail. Does a Great Horned owl's hoot for good measure. Hey, I'm trying to cheer myself up.::
