matrixrefugee: the word 'refugee' in electric green with a background of green matrix code (NaNoWriMo)
Went to the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Shop, Wal-Mart, Marshall's and Sears in search of a new coat: no luck, though I found a brown leather trench at St.VdeP's. In spite of this, I managed to bang out a few more words

More work on the midnight surgery scene -- in which Enniel annoys the bejeebers out of Fuyutsuki: "Be quiet before I sew your mouth shut." Also have been having fun writing entries from the journal of the Wintry One. And a conversation between Asato (Sabia and Fuyutsuki's Nephillim son) and a now grown Shinji Ikari, in which Asato asks Shinji about things he'd rather not discuss, such as how it feels to fight Angels. I like how Shinji has matured: he's managed to come out of his shell to some extent (could have something to do with Asuka dragging him out of that shell: yes, Shinji/Asuka 'shippers, they're a couple now and they have a ten year old daughter named Mei). More character death: Gendo Ikari does not come to a good end at all. The question is, who broke into his cell in the International Criminal Court's facility where the former commander of NERV is serving a life sentence for crimes against humanity?

Just...

Black. Leather. Trench. Coat.

I have wanted one for over ten years, and now I finally have one at the bargain price of $100 U.S. from the Salvation Army Thrift Store. I've been pinching myself since I bought it, making sure that I'm really awake. Add the black fedora, and it'll really give me a dangerous look.

I'm hoping to break 10K later tonight:

Finally finished the "Enniel in a bloodstained bedsheet" scene: it turned comedic when Asato stuck his head in to see what was going on: cue one Nephillim slipping to the floor in a dead faint. Also wrote a touching bit between Shinji and Asuka: the fiery redhead has mellowed a bit, but she still calls Shinji an idiot when she's mad at him. There's also an exchange between Asato and Enniel which made me want to beat Enniel bloody with a dictionary (if I can get past that pesky AT Field somehow. Anyone got a small replica Lance of Longinus I can borrow??) since it ended with Enniel coming on to Asato who is 1.) only fifteen (though because he's six-foot-three, Asato looks like he's about twenty) and also 2.) Asato is arguably Enniel's grandson since Sabia's "shell" is derived from Enniel. There again, Grigori tend to have somewhat fluid boundaries when it comes to matters of the flesh, plus this is Evangelion, in which the squicky pairings are somewhat built into the mythos and it doesn't take a lot of imagination to come up with some "oh my..." reactions (the scene with Shinji falling on Rei is funny when it happens, but becomes a moment of Mood Whiplash after you find out later on just where Rei really came from...). Still doesn't keep me from wanting to bash Enniel's head in, so I'm trying to come up with a way to fold, spindle and mutilate him (though he's spent four pages with with a five inch gash in his gut: maybe that's sufficient).

Just hit the 10K mark!!!

Fallout (and falling chunks of sheetrock) from Asato punching a wall and finding out just how strong Grigori/human half-breeds really are. Another journal entry. And it looks like a now grown Kensuke Aida will be showing up (I've always rather liked Kensuke: he's a bit annoying the way he's always Filming Things with that camera of his, but he means well and he's very perceptive). I hope I can keep up this momentum. So far so good, but I've had a few unrelated plot bunnies attack without warning. I'm fending them off, but I'm starting to feel like Aoba cowering under the desk during a certain scene in End of Evangelion...

I managed to pull this off in three days because... my hours at work got cut *again*; hopefully I can pick up some work helping my dad cut and bundle winterberry which he sells in the retail end of the grower where he works. For once, I'm almost glad my hours got cut, which is one reason I'm trying to get as far ahead as I can. Hopefully things will pick up during Thanksgiving week; I plan to put in for extra hours if I can, just to balance things out.
