matrixrefugee: the word 'refugee' in electric green with a background of green matrix code (MxO_Sieges)

So apparantly, because of the flooding, there was a sewage overflow in Lawrence and Haverill that contaminated the water supply, but somehow the rumor started that there was another spill here in town. Thus, about one this afternoon, right about the same time that the DPW decided to reopen my street, a bunch of people showed up at the store, clamoring for bottled water. The best we could manage were the 24-pack flats of 16 oz. bottles, since we were flat out of the gallon jugs, after the store got slammed yesterday and Sunday.

And my mom wanted to go to Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament at St. Will's, but when we got there, they'd cancelled it since there was water in the basement chapel where they have Exposition. And they couldn't have it upstairs, since the dumb choir was having rehearsal.

::Sighs::

Needless to say, I managed to get the latest fanfiction/RP fiction banged together over here on my MxO faction's messageboard. It's about the eighth post down, but it helps to read the posts above it. WARNING: Contains mild language, pain, moments of freakish humor, more pain, references to vampiric activity, *MORE* pain, mild violence and even more pain. It's also very dark, but the last post of mine ends on a lighter note.

Well, better a bit of a scare than town-wide dysentery...I had a mild case of that when I was little, and it was NOT fun.
And Ilia would like me to tell Marilyn "Happy Mother's Day" (or, "anyák napja") for him; I think he might have bought her a little something but is too shy to give it to her...

True, re: the dysentery! I just wish people didn't have to get panicky about things like this, since it just makes the situation worse.

Yeah people do tend to go off the deep end about stuff like that. Better safe the sorry I suppose, although I'd think that if it looks okay, smells okay and tastes okay then you're probably safe. I wonder if it's occured to anyone to buy water purification tablets or even just boil tap water before drinking it instead of hogging the bottled water. Why's it always bottled water anyway? There's a whole world of other beverages out there but for some reason they always go for the bottled water.

I suppose folks need it for cooking and making tea, but I never was a fan of bottled water either. Good ol' strawberry-flavored milk or grape juice or bottled green tea for me, s'il vous plait!

Yeah, that makes sense. Well, the cooking part at least. I have it on good authority that bottled water makes rubbish tea. Especially if it's fizzy (yes, someone actually tried to make tea with fizzy water).
