Why I'm dreading the Return of the Matrix Twins

I think I've said this elsewhere, but for starters, the Twins got kinda ruined for me because of a lot of their fans. Namely, the squee-gurls who write deplorable "I'm Mary Sue and I'm the Twins' girlfriend and Imma gonna save them from TEH EVOL MERV!!!!11111111" (Though heaven knows, I'd rather read a well-written Sue-fic than some of the stuff out there. Some of my best friends online are Mary Sues or play them.) About the only Twins fan I can stand is Electrify, one of my buddies in the Devil's Advocates, and he's certainly no fangurl. He's a really cool fellow.

I'm dreading the legions of squee-gurlz who are liable to come flocking to the game in droves if word gets out that the Twins are back. I mean, it'd be nice to have a *LOT* more Merv players, but I can't help thinking they'd all be the sort who just want to overthrow the Merv (I'm looking at a certain Mary Sue vampire...) just so they can save their POR TWINZIEEZ!!!11111

Plus I can't help thinking of Dean Winchester's line, "What's dead should stay dead" in last week's episode of "Supernatural".

Lol...well, if the "real" Twins are anything like the ones I know, I could understand the attraction! (Waves 'hello' to C&P...try to leave Julien in one piece for me, boys!)
Oddly, the other day one of my old professors (yes, I'm the kind of woman that stays in touch with her teachers LONG after she's been in their classes) told me that I represent a "cultural anomaly" for being one of the few people who weren't influenced or affected by the Matrix stuff at all. Apparently it's so engrained into our modern life and pop culture etc that it's almost become a "cultural binding", I think was the term he used. He evidenly likes the word 'culture' a lot.
I'm almost finished with a couple more "dream drawnings" and will be sending them your way shortly if that's all right with you...they're both very sweet.

I actually based C&P off Cain and Abel, another pair of the Lambert Wilson character's henchmen, who have a larger role in "Enter the Matrix", one of the tie-in video games, but C&P do have touches of the Twins as well.

Castor: ::Waves:: "Nah, we've been good to Julien: he's had some trouble from MR's buddy Sieges's little headspace-buddy of her own."

Julien runs by screaming, closely but teasingly pursued by a gleefully deranged-looking girl clad in a strapless black leather gown which makes her look like a member of the League of Inappropriately Dressed Knife-Throwing Assassins.

Pollux: "Looks like we better save him. Again."

Castor: "Ah let's give her a few yards more, then we'll save him."

Julien: "EEeEEEEEEEEEK!!"

Castor: "Okay, we'll save him now." ::They gallop off after Julien and the inappropriately dressed knife-throwing assassin-girl::

To be honest, I know quite a few people who've remained unaffected by the "Matrix" craze. It's a fairly small series as yet, and I was surprised at the small number of people who play the MxO, but this is actually a good thing since it makes for a tighter-knit player community. Recursion, the server I'm on has, at times, the feel of a small town where everyone knows everyone else and we're always getting into each other's business accidently or on purpose. But that's also caused some major drama-wars when someone causes trouble for someone else. Or someone starts running around turning people into vampires against their will.

Hee, nice when people's predictions come true, isn't it? And that particular event, the hunt for the parts of the Twins -- or at least one of them at this point -- was an utter *HOOT*! Here's a page with a few more pictures, taken by Veube, one of my faction buddies:
