matrixrefugee: the word 'refugee' in electric green with a background of green matrix code (Celtic cross)

Thankfully, I had an appointment with my therapist today, and I was able to talk about some of the anxiety I've been having to deal with lately. She seems to think it might be wise if I found and joined a support group for people with Asperger's Syndrome. I'm a little hesitant, but I'm almost at the point of desperation when I'll try anything to shake off this constant feeling of agitation. I'm fine if I'm out of the house working or running errands, but as soon as I get home, I find myself turning on the radio or losing myself in a book to block out the hum of Radio Free Anxiety in my head. I wish I could get the Houseparty online in here, but nothing I try to do to get people's attention in there seems to be working.

Needless to say, I did a little Easter shopping at the Burlington Mall this afternoon, and a poke-around the romance novel section at the Waldenbooks there yielded me some possible publishers for the paranormal romance I have currently sitting on my writing pad.

Amusing sight seen while walking through downtown Lowell: the windows of a Mexican cantina with a definately Spanish-sounding name decorated with leprechauns and shamrocks. I couldn't help wondering if one of the owners of said cantina is Irish....

It might be good for you to- not so much "get out more", but see if there's any small groups for support purposes, even if they aren't officially "support groups". I have severe anxiety (had it when I was younger, then it vanished, then reared its ugly head this last year) and have found that being in a familiar-yet-unfamiliar environment is quite therapeutic: you're in new situations enough to keep your mind stimulated and meet new people, but it's still familiar to you. The worst thing is to just lapse into such a routine that you never get out of the house- or even your head- that you just sort of stagnate.
My best suggestion? Find your local community college and enroll in a couple of classes- creative writing, or arts, or computers or whatever. You'll be out and about, actually learning things, and it'll be enough of a routine so it won't overwhelm you.
Whew, that's long winded enough- hope you feel better,
Take Care, Ruby

And I'd like to ask you...

I have a couple of general questions about Aspergers, but don't want to ask them
1) in your open comments
2) without your permission
Would it be alright if I emailed you? It's nothing 'sensitive' or anything, but I don't want to make you uncomfortable in general.

Hope you get something that works. Other than that, just wanted to point out you may want to google or do other searches for pictures from the Cesars from Saturday. Jude Law got some honorary award. It was on on TV5 (Télè cinq, whatever you want to all it) so I guess there must be pictures somewhere out there, too.

Hee, thanks for the heads-up! I could use some Jude eye-candy as of now.

Not sure if YouTube would have footage from the Cesars. I'm so bad with the French things on the Internet though I know there are some Italian and French videos on Youtube as well, so there must be tons I'm not seeing (if for nothing else than lack of time). Hope the tiger cubs cuddling baby orangutans link is an additional cuteness help or something, too.
