matrixrefugee: the word 'refugee' in electric green with a background of green matrix code (Sieges/Flood)

The above bit of seeming randomosity came from the patch notes for today's MxO update. I'm so glad they fixed that problem: maybe we won't have random problems with the benches being broken in the general RPish hangout at the Camon Heights Central hardline... And I/Sieges-Morraeon will never, ever get stuck having to sit on the only remaining functional bench, and that would be the bench on which the snobby Merovingian operative known colloquially as "Dragon-Guy" has parked his skinny arse for a night of pontificating. (IC and OOC, I really miss that guy: Sieges needs her "perfect enemy" to lock horns with, and Morrae wants to nail him to the pavement with her knives to settle a score between him and her...)

Got quite a bit done on "The Death-God's Daughter" today and yesterday, despite the fact that my right shoulder has been sending shooting/stabbing pains up my shoulder and down my spine whenever I try to move it. A warm bath and some of my dad's Aleve seem to have tamed it down. I'll admit, I'm not going crazy plotting this story; I'm pretty much doing a Terry Pratchett and letting the story find itself as I write it. I remember hearing his guest of honor speech at WorldCon, and his description of his own bemusement with writers who plot out their stories by writing all the plot points down on index cards and trying to put them in order.

And I discovered yesterday that scifi.com is hosting a full episode of the TV version of The Dresden Files. Yay for my FiOS connection: I was able to watch it at my leisure. I'm wishing we had cable now, and in any event, I hope that scifi.com changes their episodes from week to week until then. I do have a few minor carps (wouldn't be me if I didn't), and the biggest one being how they're handling Bob the talking skull. Not sure if I really cotton to having him come out of the skull in human form, especially since the actor who plays him looks like he'd make the top of the list for the part of Flood, if the Brothers Wachowski ever did a live action movie based off the Matrix Online. I'm serious about this: not just the swotty British accent, not just the tone of voice, he's even got the mixture of ennui, irritation and snarkiness. Ah well, can't have everything.

Also, Paul Blackthorne doesn't quite fit my mental image of Harry (he's a little older than I picture him and he's got less hair), but he nails the part dead center, which is really all that matters.

For your shoulder, if you have a bathtub, get a hot bath running and put in a packet of Epsom salts- it's much, much better than just a bath alone.
