matrixrefugee: the word 'refugee' in electric green with a background of green matrix code (Morrigan)

I've been tired from work (ie. bagging everyone's munchies for the S(t)uper Bowl...), hence the lengthy absence the past few days. Plus, I got myself wrapped up in watching UK YouTube-s of "Death Note", one of the most thought-provoking anime series I have ever seen -- and it also has major cool points with me on account of it having both death gods and an eccentric genius whom I *swear* is an Aspie, albeit an anime Aspie.

Possible good news on the Writers' Strike. Let's hope it goes through this time: http://forums.station.sony.com/mxo/posts/list.m?topic_id=36300020520

I'm guessing that the suspected anime Aspie is L. Yeah, I can see it. I saw a bit of Death Note when I was still 'gatecrashing' a neighboring uni's anime society (they knew I wasn't a member and since they didn't care I just kept showing up). Couldn't really get into it, although that might be because I hadn't seen the first few episodes so I was a bit out of the loop (the smartass near the front who kept adding their own dialogue for the purpose of creating subtext probably didn't help matters either).

Yeah, considering how tight-as-a-watch-spring the plot line is, I could see Death Note being a real tough one to start watching in the middle of the series. And gaaah, I hear yah on the subtext-ers. I sometimes don't get how they can read stuff like that into it. That and L is probably asexual. :: Laughs::

Agreed. I don't think that the individual in question was a 'serious' subtexter so much as someone who was trying to be funny, since IIRC the dialogue they were adding was really quite over the top.

p.s. Have you finished watching Trinity Blood yet?

I love watching TV series on youtube!

By the way, are you still into doing the [livejournal.com profile] 31_days challenges? I ask because I noticed (looking through tags) that at one point you wrote quite a lot of good "mini-fanfics" in reply to it.

Hee, I've found a lot of incredible stuff via YouTube: my next search is going to be the 1960s paranormal soap opera "Dark Shadows", which my mom used to watch when she was in her late teens and which she reccommended to me.

I've got a few ideas for more [livejournal.com profile] 31_days fics (some "Dresden Files", some "A.I.", a possible "A.I."/"Matrix Online" crossover), and I'm going to carve out some time this weekend to put a few together. The challenges this month are *REALLY* inspiring.

Yes, Dark Shadows is that the one with the vampires, time travel etc;?

I've been thinking of doing some "A.I." related ones too, not sure what--but maybe something involving--oh--embezzlement, a woman opening a restuarant in Rouge City--and the two mechas have to work to get to the bottom of it?

P.S.
Would you--one day in the future, be interested in attempting some kind of "round robin" fanfic?
