TDF 10 and spring cleaning
Apr. 6th, 2008 12:04 amYes, my disappearance for the past few days is due -- in no small part -- to my reading "Small Favor". The rest of the reason for my absence: spring cleaning in my room, and I feel like I'm having a mild asthma-like attack from all the dust. But since I took some Zyrtec for that, I'm not going to think about it...
. . . I'm going to think about the marvelous thing that is "Small Favor" and all the good things that Jim Butcher brought into it:
Toot-Toot has grown up from the snippy little thing he was in Storm Front.
Molly is starting to grow up as well, though the romp with her little brothers and sisters proves she's not too grown up yet.
And the furry goat-whatsits have to be the coolest critters Jim has come up with yet.
Denarians galore!
Marcone was *WHAT*?!?
Get yer paws off the Archive, you damned, dirty Nickelheads!
Eeek, poor Michael...
Oooh, spooky haunted island....
"Harry and Luccio, up in a tree..." Sorry, Harry/Murphy 'shippers.
Poor Thomas, having to play decoy.
And after hearing WGAnubis and his snarky comments on Chicago winters (Actual Xfire status lines he's used: "What is this global warming they speak of?" "Okay, who failed to carry out that hit I ordered on Old Man Winter?"), it was great to see this book set in a good ol' Chicago lake-effect blizzard!
