Happy things to keep me going

-- My dad coming home safe and sound from Ohio, and how our birds went delightfully crazy tweeting and hopping around their cages when he came in.

-- The lovely soft socks, postcards and the box of buckeye candies he brought home for my mom and I.

-- Finding out that his best buddy at work, who comes from Maine, is the nephew of no less than Stephen King. My dad's words, "No wonder 'Dale' [Not the guy's real name] is so crazy..."

-- Having friends who put up with my shenanigans and offer kind words when I need them.
