Going away on a religious retreat tomorrow

. . . But I'm feeling so emotionally worthless that I'm doubting how much good it will do and I'm debating just walking off into the woods behind the retreat house and waiting for a bear or a lynx or a coyote to come along and kill me. I just feel like the most useless person alive, like I exist only for other people to beat up on. Listen--I know this might seem like just "fluff" from a friend--but you are NOT useless. You're a sweet person--sweet, but never overly-sugary or afraid to be honest. Reading your writing both original and fanfic has cheered me many times--and I know it's done the same for others.

Remember, the reason one sometimes feels like all the world enjoys taking turns at one like some punching bag--is because you've never stooped to their level to fight dirty like them.

I really hope that perhaps this retreat will cheer you, and I'll be praying for you--you are not worthless. If anything you're one of the most worthwhile people I know of here at livejournal. Never give up. * hugs *

You are NOT useless. You are an intelligent, sweet, and kind person who has some dark moments, but those dark moments don't define who you are.
